The health tests that we run are different from what your physician runs. Our tests do not diagnose disease, but rather look at how efficiently your body is working – are you detoxifying appropriately, converting food to energy efficiently, how are your vitamin A, D, E levels, what is your omega 3 balance and are your producing enough digestive enzymes? If you’re looking to be on top of your game, these tests are for you.
Further tests to investigate specific issues may also be recommended where appropriate.
Adrenal Stress Test (ASI)
The ASI measures your individual stress response (cortisol and DHEA), providing a critical tool for revealing adrenal imbalances that may be subtly or dramatically influencing your health. Mood disorders, weight loss resistance, cardiovascular disease, digestive complaints, PMS and lowered cognitive function are just a few conditions that can be precipitated and aggravated by stress. We use the results of the ASI to formulate a plan that rebalances your adrenal hormones to modulate your symptoms.
Amino Acid Status
Training hard but not seeing results? Don’t catabolize your muscles. Fuel your body with the requisite nutrients and amino acids to prevent muscle wasting and fatigue. Find out today what amino acids you are missing from your diet (and what you’re over-loading on). We’ll even make up a specific amino acid supplement for you to ensure you get what your body needs and in the right proportions. You’ll never have to peruse the GNC aisle again flustered by the plethora of products! Instead, you’ll have your own amino acid supplement just for you and your training requirements. Time to Get Big!
Antioxidant Profile
The antioxidant profile assesses your zinc, selenium, vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin C and CoQ10 status. It provides an indication of your body’s ability to cope with oxidative stress, pollution, car fumes, alcohol, smoke, pesticides, house-hold chemicals, plastics and other free radicals.
Candida Antibody Profile
The candida antibody profile is a very sensitive and accurate assay of pathogenic candida albicans whose proliferation and release of toxins may be contributing to a multitude of symptoms such as fatigue, sugar and carbohydrate cravings, headaches, bloating, mood swings and PMS.
Comprehensive Metabolic Profile
The “All in One” test (but without the price tag). This is our most comprehensive profile. It looks at your detoxification capacity, 30 food allergens including wheat and diary, your neurotransmitters, your cellular energy levels, your essential fat balance, your stress hormones, you oxidative stress levels, your antioxidant sufficiency, and your levels of CoQ10, lipoic acid and vitamin B12. This is our most popular test and provides you with a comprehensive insight into how your body is functioning and what needs to be restored.
Detoxification Capacity Profile
The detoxification capacity profile assess the liver’s ability to breakdown and eliminate toxins from the body. This profile is imperative for anyone who regularly consumes caffeine, alcohol, over-the-counter, and prescription (including the contraceptive pill and antibiotics) drugs.
Female Hormone Panel
The female hormone panel is essential for any woman experiencing physical and emotional discomfort such as PMS, loss of sex drive, cravings, mood swings and disturbed sleep patterns. The panel measures fluctuating estrogen and progesterone levels through-out the menstrual cycle to identify any imbalance that may be contributing to your symptoms.
Fat Soluble Vitamins Profile
The fat-soluble vitamins profile assess serum levels of vitamin A, D, E, K, beta-carotene and coenzyme Q10. Testing these nutrients together is important because nutrient functionality is dependent on the adequate supply of each nutrient. For bone health, taking vitamin D without adequate levels of vitamins A, E, and K may be detrimental since all are needed for proper bone calcification. Antioxidants, such as vitamin E, CoQ10, and beta-carotene, help ensure proper antioxidant reactions and mitochondrial (aka energy) function.
Gluten Sensitivity Profile
Gluten is a highly allergenic protein found in wheat, oats, rye and barley. Elevated levels of a specific gluten antibody can diagnose this reaction. This is a critical test for anybody whose symptoms include abdominal cramping, bloating, low energy, depression and aching joints especially after eating wheat, oats, rye and barley.
Hair Mineral Analysis
A hair mineral analysis test is a highly informative and inexpensive test that not only assess your toxic metal levels but also your mineral levels and provides an indication of your adrenal, metabolic, vitality and thyroid status.
Insulin Resistance
This is a critical marker for people struggling to lose weight despite watching what they eat, particularly if they have excess abdominal fat, suffer from poor memory and feel tired even after a good nights sleep.
Male Hormone Panel
The male hormone panel is an essential panel for any man interested in optimizing his sexual function, bone density, fat metabolism, mood states, energy levels and physical appearance of skin and muscle tone. The panel measures testosterone levels as well as stress hormones (cortisol and DHEA) and melatonin.
Neurotransmitter Imbalances
This profile is vital for anyone suffering from depression, anxiety, cravings, emotional eating, insomnia or food, alcohol or drug addictions. Measures serotonin, norephinepherine, histamine, dopamine, melatonin, GABA and acetylcholine.
Nutrient and Toxic Element Profile
The nutrient and toxic element profile allows for the assessment of toxic element levels from a single blood sample. In addition, it can be used to identify deficiencies and/or excesses of many minerals and vitamins. It is beneficial for any patient with deficiency symptoms, malabsorption, low stomach acid or those taking long-term prescriptive drugs. It can also be used to assess the efficacy of supplement therapy.
Osteoporosis Risk Profile
The osteoporosis profile measures the rate of bone breakdown and is indispensable in assessing the risk of developing osteoporosis. With 1-in-3 women and 1-in-12 men developing osteoporosis in their lifetime it is vital that dietary and lifestyle changes to prevent or impede the progression of osteoporosis are implemented by those people at risk.
Pesticide Levels
Pesticides have an affinity for lipid-rich tissues and these toxins accumulate in our body over time. Pesticides are absorbed across the gut and interfere with nerve impulse transmissions which may show up as neurological problems such as mood disorders and difficulties with learning and memory. Pesticides have also been shown to cause fatigue, obesity, diabetes, certain cancers, immune dysregulation, allergies, heart disease, and a host of other problems. This test looks at the level of chlorinated pesticides in the blood to determine your exposure.
Thyroid Panel
The thyroid panel measures the levels of free T3 and free T4, TPO and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH). Hypothyroidism can produce many diverse symptoms including fatigue, weight gain, depression and constipation. Hyperthyroidism symptoms range from weight loss, to palpitations, anxiety and diarrhea.
